When I testify my right to want

When I testify my right to want
I will approach the bench and pour
Every lust and passion project every
Touch to a body this body of rage
I've ever displayed you seem dismayed
By the fact I would create something
Outside of commodity
See what I write
I hope the evidence burns your eyes I
won't apologize for wanting to drain
Everything out of life and stain the flag
With the copious colors of my blood
Sink my teeth into the flesh of happiness because
Joy is resistance too
You may be holy, but we are whole
And I don't need scriptures to fill
The bullet holes you aim at my soul or to
Practice my humanity I lay my body on
The porcelain white steps to make a
Walkable path for bodies these buildings
Were not made for so when you ask me
Why I want I will tell you that I would rather
The world stake me in the chest for loving wholly people
Than let someone else pick up a pen
And write a verse in my new testament.
